Alma Pearl Jones Sponcil, 86, wife of Paul Clinton Sponcil, died Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born April 11, 1931 in Sharpsburg, daughter of the late Omar Wilson and Nellie Williams Jones, a graduate of Sharpsburg High School, and was a member of the Church of God. In addition to her husband, Alma is also survived by two sons, Larry (Kathy) Sponcil, Michael (Cecilia) Sponcil; seven grandchildren, Chad (Andrea) Sponcil, Kelley Sponcil, Tracey (Kyle) Price, Camryn Sponcil, Tabitha (Thomas) Downs, Michael Leito, Christy Greene and family; four great grandchildren, Ryan Sponcil, Brynna Sponcil, Harper Downs, Lincoln Downs; and a sister, Anna Francis Wells. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Paul Sponcil; and a daughter, Brenda Ann Sponcil. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Brother David Campbell with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be James C. Pasley, Chad Sponcil, John Turner, Kyle Wayne Price, Sonny Sponcil and Michael Leito. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
